General Registration Information

Registration for ISSI 2023 will be open February 8 - June 30, 2023. Please email issi2023@indiana.edu with questions.

All presenting authors must register by April 15, 2023. If you are having difficulty registering by this date but do plan to attend, please contact us to let us know.

*Developing Country status is defined as attendees residing in developing countries defined as low and low-middle income by the World Bank.
**Student status applies to any undergraduate or graduate student enrolled during the 2022-2023 academic year.

  • Light lunch on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
  • Coffee breaks
  • Workshops and Tutorials
  • Doctoral Forum (if accepted)
  • Access to the proceedings
  • Certificate of attendance (if requested)
Registration does not include:
  • Banquet ticket
  • Housing
All registration fees are VAT exempt. Registration fees are to be paid in US dollars.

Housing

We have provided two easy options for housing: hotel-style accommodation on campus (in the same building as the conference) or dormitory-style accommodation on campus, about 0.7 miles (1.1 km) from the conference meeting space.

A block of standard hotel rooms is available at the Biddle Hotel at the Indiana Memorial Union (the location of the conference) for reservation. To make reservations, please:
  • Enter the dates you wish to reserve.
  • Choose "Add Code."
  • Choose "Group Code."
  • Type ISSI2023 in the group code box.
You may also call 800-209-8145 or 812-855-2536. The rooms are limited and this reduced rate is only guaranteed through March 2, 2023, so we encourage you to reserve early. Room rates will range from $120.00-$156.00 per night. There is a drop off and pickup location at the IMU.

We also have a block of dormitory style rooms available for either four or five nights. The rooms are single occupancy with a shared bathroom with another room and will include linens and a complimentary parking pass for campus housing upon request at check-in.

During registration, you will have the choice of three options for this dormitory housing. This dormitory is a drop off and pickup location for the airport shuttle and the walk to the conference venue will be through campus and not on major roads.

Staying in one of these two options is not required - you may make your own housing arrangements elsewhere.

Registration Process



Once you submit your registration, you will receive a confirmation email that will have all of the relevant information for your institution to make a payment on your behalf, or to request a reimbursement from your institution. This email serves as your invoice. There is no separate invoice form.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam folder. If you do not find a confirmation email there, either your registration or payment was unsuccessful. Should this happen, please contact iuconfs {at} iu {dot} edu.

In the registration portal, you will have the option to pay immediately using a credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). All credit card charges will show on your statement from IUBL-Conference Web.

For those registering prior to June 16, there is an option to send payment by check or wire transfer. We do not allow pay later options for Late and Onsite Registration.

Refund Policy

  • The conference office must be notified in writing of a refund request:
    • February 8-June15: full refund of the registration fee, minus a $15 processing fee.
    • June 16-June 30: no refund of the registration fee, but it is possible to transfer your registration to a colleague.
  • Please send refund requests and requests to transfer registrations by e-mail to iuconfs {at} iu {dot} edu.
  • Reservations that remain unpaid after 4 weeks will be canceled.

Logistics

Parking

Paid parking is available at the Indiana Memorial Union/Biddle Hotel, but it is very limited. See details here: https://imu.indiana.edu/maps-parking/index.html. Airport Transportation

Those traveling by air are encouraged to fly into Indianapolis International Airport (IND) and take a shuttle, which has stops on campus, including at the Biddle Hotel/Indiana Memorial Union and the dormitory housing.

Go Express shuttle runs several times throughout the day; the last pickup at the IND airport in the evening is 10:40 AM local time and the earliest is 6:40 AM. The price is currently $29 each way. https://goexpresstravel.com/bloomington-airport-shuttle/.

Code of Conduct

ISSI 2023 aims to foster and provide a welcoming environment of mutual respect for all people. We have adopted the following code of conduct to provide guidance to all on the type of behavior that is expected while attending this event.

  • All participants, including, but not limited to participants, faculty, and staff members, are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct.
  • All people are expected to demonstrate the proper respect for others regardless of, for example, age, race, gender, sexual orientation, country of origin, abilities, or professional status.
  • Physical, social, or sexual harassment, or intimidating behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Do not audio or video record presentations without permission of the speaker.
  • Violation of any of these rules may be grounds for disciplinary action and/or dismissal from the event.
